The Pet Express



THE CHALLENGE
The Pet Express first came to ICO3 in the summer of 2008. They needed a new direction for their online store which had done very badly following a recent redesign. We were asked to produce a series of new designs and to install our own shopping cart, and following that we were invited to take over the internet marketing activities for the company. Our challenge was to build on some of the earlier successes but to then create a more sustained and long lasting Pay Per Click campaign, to generate a good external linking strategy and to critically assess traffic through the site and make changes and improvements as needed.



 
THE SOLUTION
We agreed that the most productive way forward was for ICO3 to work on a commission basis and to manage the Pay Per Click budget within this revenue stream. This was the best way to ensure PPC budgets did not spiral out of control and to stimulate the ICO3 team into always working in the best interests of the company. A partnership was therefore forged and ICO3 also took over the eBay Store and the Amazon store for the company. In a period of six months the team at ICO3 worked in conjunction with the store and undertook a wide range of tasks - from pricing and market research to critical analysis of customer data.

THE RESULT
Sales on the The Pet Express have grown from just under £1000 per month when we started to £50,000 per month by November 2010. Visitors to the site have increased from Organic and Pay Per Click sources while at the same time the Pay Per Click budget remains very conservative. Sales on eBay and Amazon have been very strong and continue to grow as we expand the shop's range of products. ICO3 have now written more than 1000 unique descriptions for each of the products.
